dommorton 0 Posted May 20, 2008 I have a 1991 1.9 8v which currently has the later style standard system on it which has a one piece down pipe/centre section. I've recently acquired a Magnex system (less manifold) and want to fit it to my original downpipe. Is it just a case of cutting the down pipe at the appropriate place and sliding the Magnex over? Baz 421 Posted May 20, 2008 Nope, it's a PITA as iirc the magnex is 2.5" and the std systme is 2,25" or there abouts. You need to cut the std downpipe just before it gets small, then get some pipe the same dia. as the magnex (or just smaller) and weld that in place, to then sleeve the magnex onto. daza4 24 Posted May 21, 2008 I have had that fitted to mine before. I now have the manifold. I have sent you a PM mate. Daza

Hmm just took a look Seems the downpipe on mine is the same diameter (or near as dammit) as the Magnex. Guess I need a sleeve which it seems my good friend has for me
