Blackbird Tb's On A Gti6?

Recommended Posts

rex

Hey everyone,

Had a personal disaster in the 205 GTi-6 conversion last month. My house burned down! :D

Obviosuly the 205 wasn't in there or I don't think I'd be posting right now, but I lost the wiring loom that was finished  and the ECU amongst other odds and sods associated with the new project.

So a friend from the UK came out to help us, and with him (presumably to eliviate my depression) brought me a complete set of throttle bodies from a Honda Blackbird saying "slap them on your bit of scrap - it'll get it going proper". Well, I've got them in my hands here and I'm already seeing the homemade manifold in the minds' eye but obviously I've never attempted anything like this before and I really must stop spending inordinate amounts of money on this project.

So my question has to be is this realisticly feasible, to those with prior knowledge is it going to cost a fortune and more importantly, what's involved?

Kind regards,

Rex

Kyepan,

Thanks, but I would be making my own . It's the ecu side of it I'm interested in hearing about....!

Still no takers? I thought one of you would have messed around with these are they are so easily available. :(

Well, I've found someone to make up an ECU to make it run with these throttle bodies, but I'm not sure how long the inlet should be for optimum performance? I've been invloved with a lotus Elise running the same TB's on a K-series - the length specified by the client was 7.5 inches from the head to the end of the cornet...

Anybody using any kind of TB's on a GTi6 engine out there who can give me the length of theirs??

Regards, Rex

Kate205gti on here made some before and after posts with a gti6 with and without bodies. Dreamweaver and a few others have made up custom manifolds by cutting the original manifold down, then using silicone pipes to attach the bodies. Look for Dreamweaver's project thread (now for sale :) )
