timmsy19 3 Posted May 19, 2008 Hi all Time has come to get some new disks and pads at the rear. Car will mainly be used as fast road and light bit of track action. Ive seen someone put vented disks at the back and was wondering what was involved in doing this. is it a whole caliper upgrade? Also what disks and pads are recommended. part numbers and links might be useful Thanks
Simes 248 2 Cars Posted May 20, 2008 I wouldn't bother - the rear brakes see hardly any action to warrant upgrading to vented. If anything just change the pads.
RossD 44 Posted May 20, 2008 My 1250kg Xsara has the same rear brakes as the 205 GTi and they cope well, even with heavy use, I really don't think an upgrade is needed!
timmsy19 3 Posted May 20, 2008 fair enough. looks like some standard disks and pads are the way forward. at least its not to much expense
Coonper 0 Posted May 20, 2008 fair enough. looks like some standard disks and pads are the way forward. at least its not to much expense Best bet is to just renew the fluid, make sure the seals are in good order, and put some braided hoses on them. Get some good quality oe discs and pads and youre away.
