Carb Fuel Hose

Recommended Posts

ANDYMISIXTEEN

I need to sort my fuel hoses out on my Mi16 on weber carbs. I Think the Facet pump needs 10mm hose, the carbs and pressure reg need 8mm and the outlet on the bulk head is 6mm?

What have other people done? Should i use hose adaptors or use 8mm hose and squeeze it onto the fuel pump, will it tighten up enought on the outlet on the bulkhead?

Id use adaptors mate. It could be very nasty if the fuel starts chucking fuel out due to bad seal.

Why not just use 3 different sized pieces of pipe though? Lengths of 6mm, 8mm and 10mm.

I've used 8mm all round. Its abit tight over the pump connections and will clamp up on the bulkhead with decent clips.

Its very low pressure so if the clips are tight enough I can't see you having any problems.

I've not had any in the numerous years I've had mine plumbed up like this.

Just a quick comment slightly off topic, you may have problems with your facet pump located in that position as they need to be mounted vertically. I originally had mine there but burned out 2 before a rolling road tuner pointed this out to me.

Havnt got a manual for the pump. Anyone know which way up it should be? Wheres the best location for the pump then? Its quite big and the oulets are at awkward angles seemed like the best place for it.
