kate205gti 4 Posted May 17, 2008 any idea where the wire is that controls the handbrake cable please? my handbrake light has started flickering on while im driving - have checked the cable and handbrake is definately not on so im guessing the wire is shorting somewhere any idea where i start looking please? jackherer 543 Posted May 17, 2008 If there is a leak you should find the pedal will sink to the floor if you hold it for long enough and that should force enough fluid out to make it easy to find. If the pedal doesn't sink and there are no obvious leaks it could be that you have used a lot of brake pad material which lets the pistons further out of the calipers and can lead to lower fluid in the reservoir, thats unlikely to happen in a month though.
