This is for my road going 1.6, but as i don't have access to a press, removal of the old bush and fitting of the new would be difficult at best. Therefore thinking as this is a whole unit it will make life easier. I'm due to change driveshafts shortly so this would be an ideal opportunity to fit this. Cheers Chris. kyepan 291 Posted May 16, 2008 You can get this out with a butane blowlamp and a chisel. Getting another one in you just need a vice and a big lump hammer. If it's a 1.6 you might want to consider using a standard diesel 306 mount, i think they are uprated but not to the point of the group a ones which cause the cabin to resonate and drown out any engine note... James_R 3 Posted May 16, 2008 I have a PTS solit mount in the housing already knocking about. I'm swtiching to full solid mounts on the track car now. apparenlty some people have experinced loss of traction issues with fully solid mounts as there's no moment to absorb the intial "jolt" of torque in to the drive train and you can get slippage, petert mentioned abotu this and reverted to nylon ones instead of solid billet. Baz 421 Posted May 16, 2008 Driveline shunt has nowhere to go but the shell, so loss of traction and more strain through the shell etc, but that one isn't completely solid anyway, it's resin, will have some 'give' in it. You really do have me stumped as to where on the car there is a fork with a bush that needs replacing. Go on someone put me out of my misery.
