petesy71 0 Posted May 14, 2008 hi, i've painted all my exterior trim using the guide on the main site and this thread, painting trim... it,s came up looking really well using halfords flexible vinyl paint,(only pic is of the bumper as i'm not putting the trim back on until i clean the paintwork up with a clay bar and polish). now it's done i,m wondering what to put on it to protect it, i dont need any back to black products as its been painted, so i want to know is the likes of autoglym bumpercare worthwhile or are there any other products people would recomend, any thoughts, thanks, pete. toddydal 1 Posted May 17, 2008 when you wax your car you protect your bodywork same applys to you trim so yes i would say even though its freshly painted i would still protect it with somekind of bumber care product
Doof 11 Posted May 17, 2008 Have you laquered it? I didn't do mine and it was suffering a year down the line. I'll be doing it again this summer but i'll definitely laquer it this time.
vern 0 Posted May 17, 2008 (edited) If you used the halfords paint, mine is still fine after 2 years, I use the autoglym bumper snot and it brings them up like new. I have only done the bumper snot maybe 4-5 times in those 2 years. I never laquered mine, just left the matt finish and the snot puts a nice sheen on it. http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...c=88837&hl= Mine is the CTi at the end of the thread. Exactly the same answer from me, although I use Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care, as I find other products too greasy.
Doof 11 Posted May 17, 2008 Ok so maybe it was the fact i used brake fluid to strip the old paint off... Lots of people recommended it!
