welshpug 1,666 Posted May 14, 2008 is your brother using the original ecu to run the spark?

jackherer 543 Posted June 12, 2008 You definitely don't need them connected, your ECU isn't doing anything as it only controls injection, the ignition advance on 205 GTIs is controlled by the distributor.
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted June 12, 2008 is your brother using the original ecu to run the spark? Yes but the ecu on a Clio Wiliams (Siemans MPI) is a better design & has a proper TPS along with CAS, IAT, VSS, Lambda & knock sensors so its a world of difference to the Jetronic fitted to a 205. This system might even be possible to remap like the MP3.1 & MM8P's are. Graham.
