Silly Question - But - What Colour To Paint Underneath Carpet And Unde

Hiya guys

 

I've been busily removing the rust on the inside of the car underneath the carpets. I have used an angle grinder with a wire attachment and most of the rust has ground away nicely. I've then rust killed all of the area. I have also done this to the section underneath the car where the boot floor is.

 

I plan to now paint these area's to protect it further. For the section underneath the car i was going to paint it with some black hammerite then underseal.

 

But for the inside of the car where the carpets go, i'm not too sure. I was thinking hammerite, but was wondering if i should get silver as that is the colour of my car. Sounds silly as this are wont even be seen as the carpet will cover all of it.

 

Just thought i would ask the question, before running out and buying something.

how about something nice and thick like red-lead sort of thing, that way it will protect against rust incase you get any water under the carpet / underlay/sound proofing...
