gerlewislewis 0 Posted May 12, 2008 My NS wing has a few dents and ive thought about getting a new wing fitted and sprayed. Do they bolt off or are they welded on? is it a big job - or would I be better off getting the current wing filled and sprayed? Ger
welshpug 1,656 Posted May 12, 2008 (edited) they're easy to fit, getting the old ones off are a mission if you don't want to mash them due to the amount of seamsealer/undeseal thats used as well as the half dozen bolts. depends how bad the dent is, if its creased it'll be difficult to get back to a decent finish without a lot of time and potentially half a tub of filler... a new wing from Peugeot is about £100, add painting and fitting on top. gerlewislewis 0 Posted May 12, 2008 so are they welded on? or blended into the car frame? as I cant see a join. They are £32.50 on autofive. Ger
welshpug 1,656 Posted May 12, 2008 no not welded on, bolted and bonded, not a bad price from autofive, but pattern parts especially 205 wings, never fit that well and tend to rust more readily, there's far cheaper prices to be had if you shop around no doubt, but the quality? toddydal 1 Posted May 12, 2008 if the original wing isnt rusty and not to badly damaged i would repair it rather than put a cheap wing on,like said above it could be a bad fitting wing and not last as long plus you wont be disturbing all the original seam sealer if you repair the one whats on

Foltan 0 Posted May 18, 2008 if you want a complete new wing the best is to get a new original peugeot one but off ebay or suchlike because then its nearer the price of a new pattern part. pattern parts can occasionally be fine, but wings are notorious for being dodgy on any car because there's so many angles involved. 2-Pugs 57 Posted May 23, 2008 Yeah, I agree. I've had experience of pattern wings for 205's in the past. They don't fit properly, and they rust quicker than an old tin can. Either make good what you have or stump up £115 from a dealer.
