gti_al 1 Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) What is likely to happen if the car/engine is too low? My shafts are ok, but the boots aren't lasting at all... my new ones are completely dead after only 1500kms. The car is about 30-40mm lower, and the engine is about 25mm lower on some of Magic's solid mounts I suspect the inner boots are catching on the subframe, but the outside ones can't be hitting anything. Has anyone else had issues? Should i try raising the engine up or is this more likely to be caused by dodgy cv boots? Edited May 10, 2008 by gti_al Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

There is a little bit of the subframe which i only cut off one side too... Both inner and outer have gone anyway. Thinking about it, the shaft doesn't touch the subframe when it is jacked up - would it get closer when the suspention compresses? I'm guessing it must!
