Hi

Is it a 4 or 5 speed auto? If a 5 speed, does it have a green or black tag on the box?

Cheers

Tim

Hi, what would you recommend for my car

2.1 16v XU engine, cams, steel crank, forged pistons and steel rods, throttle bodies, dry sump, oil cooler.

Pretty much 90% track work but it's road legal.

Hi

Any idea how hot the oil is getting on track?

never gets above 90 degree. I have a stack dash so can easily monitor everything

whatever you're using now, or what sandy recommends will suffice then, normal 10w40 I'd imagine.

Hi

Yes, a 10w-40 would be my choice, but a good one as it's on track

The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V, Redline and Millers CFS.
Cheers

Hi

I have a gti6 conversion in my 309. Occasional track use and gets drive pretty hard. Would a fully synthetic be beter than a semi? Also suffers from low oil pressure on tick over but no problems with pressure when driving. Maybe an oil that stays thicker when up to temp? Ta lewis

Hi Lewis

What oil are you using in the 309 and how long is it in there between changes?

Cheers

Just more than 1000 miles and new filter too. Not sure on the brand but its part synthetic. Going to put a new spring on the oil pump and check the pick up etc. Would a different oil help possibly?

Hi

I would use a synthetic 10w-40.
The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V, Redline and Millers CFS. They will not break down as quickly as a semi-synthetic so the pressure should hold up better.
