Securing Front Braided Hoses

This is probably a really simple question but...

 

For those who have fitted braided front hoses as a replacement for the normal flexis how have you secured them to the strut?

same as usual, or cable ties

I was thinking cable ties but didn't know how the MOT tester would view them.

Used the rubber bung from the originals and pushed them into the usual bit in the strut. No MOT probs at all.

^^^^^^thats how i'm doing mine now :mellow: ^^^^^^

 

i was just going to bent the lugs so that it kept the brake line in place, but then i thought it may rub

 

so i've picked up yet another top tip off here

That's how I wanted to do it which was a great plan right up until the bit when I threw away the old ones!

Just go to the local garage and ask them for some old hoses...at least that's what I did :mellow:

Mine's never been attached to the strut, just the inside of the arch. Is it supposed to be? didn't get noticed in an MOT before. i have standard struts BTW.
