Atari Boy 11 Posted May 5, 2008 I know I have posted loads of questions on this in the past but the problem is vexing me. Originally I thought that my wipers were just really slow with no difference between position two and three. So I re-greased all the arms and spindles hoping it would work, it didn’t really. I then was not really able to notice the difference between the two speeds and though something else was wrong such as a relay. Then M@tt posted his guide which I have just followed and I now have slightly faster wipers and there is definitely a slight difference between the two speeds. The problem is they are still quite slow although this is with a dry windscreen. Do I have an earthing issue and if so where should I start looking? Please do make me take the scuttle panel off again, I hate fiddling with the windscreen seal. Thanks Jonny
DaveW 6 Posted May 5, 2008 I think mine are the same as yours im just goin to get a motor off a 106 (late as possible age) even after the little clean up it did'nt do much so a newer one is needed.
Craigb 2 Posted May 6, 2008 Have you checked how many volts you are getting at the motor?
M@tt 77 Posted May 6, 2008 i was goign to say there's really not that much that else that could go wrong with them if you've cleaned up the contacts then you must be getting pretty poor voltage to it. I'd be checking the earths, check the voltage and clean up the electrical contacts.
tidypug 5 2 Cars Posted May 6, 2008 Is there any chance it could be a broken switch in the car?
Super Josh 4 Posted May 6, 2008 Do you have or can you get hold of a multimeter? Worth checking the 12V supply and the earth resistance is all okay. It's worth sticking a 106 one on your car, definite improvement over the 205 thing. Josh
Atari Boy 11 Posted May 6, 2008 I will get my multi meter out and check the levels. I just hate the idea of getting the scuttle panel back in again. Now that the motor has be ‘M@tted’ I defiantly have two speeds so I think the wiper stalk is okay. Thanks everyone. Jonny
