JayCC 0 Posted May 5, 2008 Well, got round to doing some work today. Started off just changing the starter motor, but have now decided to change all the oil breather pipes, thermostat housing, battery, top rad hose and bottom rad hose. I'm going to go for the uprated baker bm oil filler hose. Just wondering, what are the standard parts like from Auto Five? Do they use OE parts? I was going to just order it all online rather than go down to peugeot. The top rad hose for my PAS '92 1.9 at Autofive is £49.50 + vat, is it the same ish price at Pug? cheers james
JayCC 0 Posted May 5, 2008 Also, these listed on ECP BILSTEIN n/a 625545005 SHOCK ABSORBER ZX/205/306/309 , are they O.E spec or aftermarket? They arnt Streetline spec are they? As i've read they are pretty useless? How would BIL ORIGINAL STRUT CIT.AX/PEUG 205 with Skip Brown Road Speed springs be? cheers
Rom 0 Posted May 5, 2008 With regard to the top hose...Baker do a hose kit for triple the price roughly..Sounds a lot, but when you think your getting all the hoses in silicon. Rather than 1 rubber hose for £50 odd. The shocks, i could check my part numbers tommorrow, got a set boxed at work. Mine were just OE replacements, not uprated or anything. Miles 331 1 Cars Posted May 5, 2008 Just to add that BBM do the 8v oil filler pipe in Silicone and it's at least half the price of a Pug one. The std strut's will work with lowered springs but not that well as the damper rod act's in the wrong plain so to speak, They are the Streetline one's but the front;s are fine it just the rear's...... richsmells 2 Posted May 6, 2008 How would BIL ORIGINAL STRUT CIT.AX/PEUG 205 with Skip Brown Road Speed springs be? They'll be pretty awful. I have standard new pug shocks and roadspeed springs. Like Miles says, the damper will be working in the wrong area of its travel, unlike a shorter uprated shock, hence my car is bloody rattly and bumpy. Currently considering the Gaz adjustable fronts in the group buy as a decent alternative.

I purchased one of these last night £38inc p+p which is cool. They'll be pretty awful. I have standard new pug shocks and roadspeed springs. Currently considering the Gaz adjustable fronts in the group buy as a decent alternative. I think i will stay with the Std shocks and buy some O.E pug springs. However when i look on the pug catalogue, it shows about 10 different sping combo's (red stripe, white stripe etc etc..) ANy idea which ones for a 1992 Phase 2 1.9 ? Unfortunatly Stew does not do the top hose (with inbuilt oil cooler) yet, so going to hack to get the standard O.E one.
