Recommended Posts

i have some new 1.9 gti badges to stick on to my rear quarters, without pins.

Is silicon up to the job? if not what should I get?

hi ger, i used the thick double sided sticky pads from halfords, used to attach number plates. from memory it came in one big pad so i was able to cut it with scissors into suitable sizes. when i removed the trim last week to refurb they were a bugger to get off. i applied them over a year ago. hope this is of some help, pete.

well, I did one side with silicon (cos I had some to hand), and ive held it in place with masking tape. I will see how secure they are in a couple of days.

I didnt get time to do both sides, but if the silicon turns out to be crubbish then I will try your ideas. cheers guys

well, silicon seems to have done the job. Where do you get silkaflex from for future ref? is it a homebase type stuff, or halfords? - whats its intended use?
