205johnnyxsi 0 Posted May 2, 2008 Hello as you might no i was looking for a gearbox last night now got one many thanks to travill... problem is ive only changed complete lumps before e.g engine and gearbox what do i need to do it e.g engine lift ect got all the nessary spanners and sockets but what else will i need... also could someone explain in a bit of detail for me id be very grateful cus i made meself look a fool last night doing the box so i want to show them older cars still live on and get back there tonight its a 309 by the way 1.6 box 1.6xsi thanks johnny Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
jackherer 543 Posted May 2, 2008 The Haynes is pretty good for this. Physically lifting the box in and out is the hardest part, it helps to remove the battery tray and a hoist does make it a bit easier to refit if you're doing it yourself but a trolley jack or two is all you really need.
