Wider Axles

I m fitting a dimma kit to my 205 and am thinking the wheels won t line up witht he edge of the arches. What are my options to fix this? Wider axle - is the 309 axle sudfficiently wide enough? Wider wheels - how much wider do they need to be? Wheel spacers?

309 beam still won't be wide enough without spacers for a Dimma kit assuming you're running standard 1.9 wheels, and wider beams such as 306/ZX/Xsara don't fit without alot of work and modifications to the shell.

What wheel youy running? indeed the 306 beams are hard to fit but might be the right width for what you need. The 306 beam can be fitted but reuires mods to shell. You need to cut away some metal underneath and weld in a new flay section to bolt beam to.

Yeah, I d already searched and found that. I was hoping for a little more info.

Cheers welshpug. i ve just purchased a dimma kit to go on the car and if I can t find a set of dimma alloys (which i doubt i will - i need the car ready in the next two months), then I m not sure the best way to go about filling the arches so it does nt look stupid. I d ideally like to put some compomotives on the car - maybe 16 or 17s x 7/7.5, but am not sure if spacers will be enough with these?

well im running 50mm spacers on the rear and 25mm on the front and the car handles well but does tend to feel a understeery i think dimmas being wider on the back looks good but doesnt do the handaling side of things any good but i think that is why dimmas has wider wheels on the back to fill the arches out but not increase the track width but then the wheels are a bit too wide for a 205!!!! any one else think the same?
