Rom 0 Posted April 30, 2008 Evening guys.. Ive found a pretty helpful guy at my local dealer, hes sorted me out with most stuff so far but seems to be struggling on the clutch cable and a seal for the main selector shaft on the box. I dont have a pic of my cable, but i can explain it pretty well Its recently been established i have a Mi box with lift up reverse. The cable has a d shaped plastic clip with clips into the box casing, the a threaded rod with big rubber doughnut which sits in the clutch arm. The pedal end has a plastic recatngular piece on the end, this hooks over the clutch pedal, it has no clevis pin or other fixing, just hooks over. The cable is approx 1460mm long Can anyone supply a part number so i can get one please ? As im getting confused, the one they showed me today for my car had a clevis pin end for the pedal. So maybe i need a certain model / year etc. So a part number would be awesome And secondly.. Im after the seal for the shaft, number 2 its shown as. The part number listed is 2515 17. I went to pick it up today, but its different to the one i took out. The new one is mostly metal, with only rubber for the sealing face. Ive not tried it on the shaft, im guessign it will proabably be ok, but it has less of a flange that sits on the box casing. The old one is mostly rubber, with a rubber lip that seems to act as a dust cover which would overlap onto the box casing. Any help..as always..greatly appreciated. Ill get a pic at work tommorrow if needed
Rom 0 Posted May 1, 2008 I suck and forgot to get a pic No one has any ideas on this ?
Anthony 1,003 Posted May 1, 2008 You need a BE3 clutch cable, same as any XU engined 205 from mid-1990 onwards. Part number is 2150A7, and from memory it's about £17 or so.

Anthony 1,003 Posted May 1, 2008 That will have the hook type fitting i assume then. Yes - it has the hook on the clutch pedal end, and the white push fit bit where it goes into the cabin/pedalbox. I suspect that the confusion is arising from the fact that BE1 Mi16 'boxes use a BE3 style clutch arm/cable etc, and not a BE1 setup like 205/309 BE1 'boxes do. Rom 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Yeah, thats what has thrown me really. I was told the box was a 1.6 box. So ive been goign on that assumption when orderign stuff. But Miles recently pointed out its actually an Mi box The only things ive had to get dealer to swap is the reverse switch, cable, and the seal. Switch was easy enough, ill ring him tommorrow about the cable. The seal..well he was checkign to see if it was superseeded at all, which would explain why even the seal i ordered for the Mi box looks different.
