McDude 33 Posted April 30, 2008 Hairdryer to heat up the glue so they come off. Alcohol wipes to remove any excess glue. Do the new stickers look the same as the old ones? If so why the change?
toddydal 1 Posted April 30, 2008 also you can boil the kettle and pour the boiling water over the sticker
gerlewislewis 0 Posted April 30, 2008 good replys guys. The current ones are about 10 years old. And look worse than the pics. Peeling etc Ger
Last Legend 0 Posted May 1, 2008 Go with a combination of kettle then hair dryer then AutoGlyms Tar and Glue remover to get the stickey residue off.
NOsMAN 10 1 Cars Posted May 5, 2008 saw a program on removing stickers and the best method was to use mayonaise ..apply onto sticker leave for a while and it comes off easily and no glue residue
Dabz 0 Posted May 5, 2008 hmm mayo sounds interesting..especially on a nice hot day in the sun hairdryer has always done me proud, with plenty of elbow grease afterwards to remove the sticky bits that get left behind

GLPoomobile 958 Posted May 5, 2008 I tried it today, used mayo to get rid of some glue that was left behind when i took some stickers off afew weeks ago, left it on for 4 hours then washed it off....didnt remove any white spirit for me! Not that I'm at all cynical, but I kinda saw that coming Damn these old wives and their stupid tales! "Get back in the kitchen and shut up bitch!.............And what the f*** is this mayo doing out here? Damn crazy bitch!"
Arahan 4 Posted May 5, 2008 Aye, guess I shoulda known better! Maybe it was my choice of mayo...perhaps I should have gone the whole hog and gone for the absolute apex of mayo, Hellmans, instead of a pot of Tesco value stuff?
gerlewislewis 0 Posted May 13, 2008 Update: I poured a full kettle over each sticker, and then gently peeled them off, easy! The stick residue was not coming off for love nor money though. In the end a sprinkling of white spirit and the sticky stuff came off with one wipe of a cloth! All done! Ger
Casanova 0 Posted May 13, 2008 Too late now obviously, but why not just apply the new ones over the top of the old ones? If they're exact replacements they should cover them up perfectly, and there's no better guide to get them exactly straight and in the right place than the original ones themselves! §
