SPGTi 2 Posted April 30, 2008 Are these the same ? I have an XU10 8v one that looks like a strengthened version of the XU9 one but don't won't to go to the hassle of removing mine to find that the XU10 one has smallerports / different spacing etc cheers Steve

SPGTi 2 Posted April 30, 2008 All XU 8v manifolds are the same Thanks, I also have a heat shield with this so will put it all on. cheers steve
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted May 3, 2008 All XU 8v manifolds are the same Actually no they aren't. The XU10 manifolds I've had (from experience) have a 1mm bigger exhaust port than any I've ever removed from any 205GTi engine. Graham.

Any idea how well they match up to 1.9 ports? I presume if the ports are smaller fitting a 2.0 manifold would create a step in the exhaust tract causing turbulance negating any benefits of having a potentially better (read bigger ) flowing manifold Or am I just talking rubbish? welshpug 1,657 Posted May 6, 2008 Interesting to note Graham, seeing as the same manifold is fitted to both engines, maybe the later ones are all bigger. I.E if you buy a replacement manifold for either an XU5, XU7, XU9 or XU10 8 valver's you'll get an 0341 94, for £216.88.

They match up p[efectly, infact Hflow used to sell manifolds with 1mm bigger ports than standard as a perfromance addition. Having everything perfectly smooth & lined up isn't alway the best method for power or flow, a step to a larger exhanst mainfold can actually help more than a smooth join iirc. Its quite possible thay changed the port size when they started the XU10 although I've never taken the manifold from an XU7 to say honestly if they also have the 1mm bigger ports to the old XU5/9 ones I've had on the various 205 GTi's I've had. Seeing as it is such a minor change & esentially the same part I wouldn't expect Peugeot to use a different part number for it & it can still be used on the older engines without any problem. Graham.
