Xu7j4 With Gti6 Inlet Manifold

Recommended Posts

alync406

I have fitted a gti6 inlet manifold to my 1.8 406 and it just does'nt run right. If you open the throttle fully it just misfires. If you open the throttle slowly it seems ok.Has anyone fitted one of these before.Would it be that its not getting enough fuel- would it have to be remapped(can it be remapped-it has a sagem ECU).Thanks. :)

Which throttle position sensor are you using? the gti6 one may not be compatible directly and require the pins in the plug swapping around.

Also check the pin positions on the map sensor, they are different between early and late Gti6's,dont know if they may be different on the 406 also ?

Which injectors did you use too?, All the XU7 stuff needs swapping over really and a Remap is a must

I used the 406 throttle position sensor and map sensor.I used the gti injectors-they are the same resistance as the 406 ones and where they go into the manifold they are a bit longer. Thanks for the replies.

Do you know if the sagem ECU can be remapped?
