Guest trw144 Posted April 27, 2008 DOes anyone know where I can get a full set of T16 decals. There are some on ebay for £80 but I dont think they are quite right, and its not a full set. (I want all the shell and michelin stickers with it to make it authentic). There was someone on ebay selling this full set but there have been none recently listed, and I cant remember the persons ebay ID - its something like "dcoupedesigns" - I ve searched for this and cant find a match. Any help would be appreciated. Also - does anyone do an aftermarket wing like on the orginal T16 - a large black one above the rear tailgate?

Ive got 2 dimmas, one is for sale on ebay now! I ve recently purchased an mi16 for hill climbing. Its got a bit of work to be done to it - i m aiming to have it ready so I can enter it a few times at Shelsley towards the end of the summer. It has nt got the dimma kit - I would like to have added it but with all the other work i need to do to it, I can t warrant spending the money on this. I do want to add the T16 decal set though so it looks a little better. I m going to add some photos of the project soon.
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted April 28, 2008 M@tt on here has a T16 kit for sale which may suit you. As for the decals, T16Ryan on here has a look a like car but he bought it with the decals already on it. It is just a case of scaling up the sizes from photos. There was a kit in 1985 for 205's which put the PTS livery on, however I have not seen one of these in the flesh for years, though someone had a set on here, unused. Guest trw144 Posted April 28, 2008 I m thinking of purchasing a set for a model car and having them scaled up to fit. Does anyone know if this would work or would the scaling up not work - I suppose it depends on the quality of the set if they are to be scaled up by 30 or 40 times. McDude 33 Posted April 28, 2008 Try jonnygoodhand - he does PTS decals, PM him or his website is http://www.goodhand.co.uk/pts-decals/ I'm sure he could make up whatever you were after
Arahan 4 Posted April 28, 2008 Sweet, thats a useful link! Just bought some Grille stripes as mine have faded to white on the edges on both blue stripes! They are the original Rallye ones though, so been on there for quite a few years!
Guest trw144 Posted April 28, 2008 I ve just found these ........ http://www.grandprixmodels.co.uk/searchdet...RCH&back2=1 They are 1/24th scale so perhaps would scale up ok. Anyone know any good companies who would scale them up at a good price. Alternatively, if anyone also wants some, then if we combine our orders we could save considerably. From reading elsewhere, I think it may be about £100 a set, but only £30 for additional sets. (This price is only from reading elsewhere - I will need to get some quotes). Anyone know if 1/24th would scale up in sufficient detail? Let me know if your interested in purchasing some.

Does anyone know if this would work or would the scaling up not work - I suppose it depends on the quality of the set if they are to be scaled up by 30 or 40 times. I've suggested that to a few people on here before, dont see why it wouldnt work. Pretty easy job for a decent decal shop. Depends how bigger a model you can find, 1/18th will only need to be enlarged 18times http://www.racingmodels.co.uk/centerpeugeo...-118-4483-p.asp Anyway, I have some genuine Shell decals big enough for the bonnet and the wings, plus a few others (Cibie, facom and champion) that I was collecting for a T16 a like, not going ahead anymore so PM if your interested in them
gerlewislewis 0 Posted April 28, 2008 the 1/24th model they are made form would need to have exactly the same form as the real car, for the curves etc to match. So I doubt they would fit tbh. just a guess though
Arahan 4 Posted April 28, 2008 Thats why 1/18th would be better, as its a bigger model so, in theory, should be better shaped like the car as its bigger and easier to sculpt! Did anyone ever do any lasrger than 1/18th models? Using this theory, these should be even better and less scaling up to do!

Yes agreed the contours would have to be considered on a GTI v's T16 What you could do is, get them enlarged in paper form to scale first and offer them up onto the car and decide then if it was a goer? Guest trw144 Posted April 29, 2008 I ve emailed the maker of the model kits - I m hoping to beg a computer file out of them which has the graphics on it. This would avoid the need of resizing a decal set. I ll post up a price of combined orders once I know more.
