Ricardo 0 Posted April 25, 2008 I've a 1992 1.6 gti. My oil filler breather assembly doesn't fit the mounting bolts. The holes are not far enough apart. What could it be off (all the hoses fit OK) would this affect the tickover? It also emulsifies badly and needs cleaning every week even though the water level drops very minimally and the head gasket was replaced with a head skim last year. Is this normal? Also tickover probs but still working on that as I've read loads on the forum and going through the checks.(may post later if I can't sort that out!). Any advise appreciated
welshpug 1,657 Posted April 25, 2008 there is only one bolt for the filler pot, emulsified oil or "mayo" is common in these engines in the winter, especially if the car is used for relatively short journeys.

Only one bolt hole but there is a cup the other side!?
Ricardo 0 Posted April 26, 2008 So what's supposed to go in the 'cup/slot'?
Tom Fenton 1,542 Posted April 26, 2008 Nothing, yes it is misleading and doesn't make sense but they are all like it!!

rory182 0 Posted July 6, 2008 (edited) lol thought mine must be broken cause it's loose, figured the 'cup' had snapped away from somewhere, clearly just need to bolt it back on! Edited July 6, 2008 by rory182
