Inner Wing And Strut Top Replacement?

Recommended Posts

marksorrento205

Hello all, My 205 1.9 has a slight rust problem around the drivers side front inner wing just at the bottom of the front stut mount. It looks like the jack has been rubbing on the bodywork, losing surface protection and rusting. Its not major but does go round the side of the stut mount inside the inner wing where chopping and plating will be challenging to say the least . I have spent the night going though previous posts. Is it a big job to replace the whole inner panel inc strut mount? Does the car require much stripping to remove this panel? I know its a question with no real easy answer but any help or ideas would be great cheers.

Mark

Have a look in my supercharged build thread, I had the same problem. I bought a whole new innner wing panel from Peugeot for £25 or so.

Cheers garry, mines like your drivers side pic, maybe slightly worse. Did you replace the strut turret?

No, but as far as I can remember you can get that as well.

You can still buy the complete panel from Pug, It's only around £100.00 for the complete inner wing section, bit of a bargin I thought when I found out

My 205 had the exact same problem. I cut the grot out, then welded an oversized patch from inside the wheelarch (if that makes sense)

Then I welded from the other side, in the engine compartment, ground down the welds and skimmed with filler.

It was fiddly but it looks okay now.
