Glitch On Acceleration With Fuel Pump Relay

Recommended Posts

Got my new 1.9 Gti K reg two weeks ago and has been badly neglected. Running badly so inveatigated and found missing lambda (unplugged) no supply to aux air valve and fuel pump always running even on "first click" of the ignition. Started the wire tracing game and found a badly hashed alarm, no fuel pump relay just the pump supply lashed to the ignition switch  . Spent hours removing any unwanted wires from the alarm, sorced a yellow 5 pin fuel pump relay which also supplies the lambda heater power and the aux air valve power when the engine cranks and starts. That all now works as it should and runs better, however at 2100 revs the engine very briefly blips coenciding with a click of the pump relay, no so bad revving on the drive but much more noticeable when under load, doesn't do it any further up the rev range! tried to trace any related or attached components but its the ECU that switches the relay. ANY clues from the electrical gurus would be welcome,

BTW got lots of wiring diagrams relating to the XU9JAZ injection system after the hunt if anyone needs them!!

In your investigations, did you find the tachometric relay? Or perhaps that's the relay you mean

Either way have you tried changing it?

Can't think of much else. Perhaps the tdc sensor?

Your car sounds interesting though for different reasons, I will drop you a PM :D
