dirtdog 4 Posted April 22, 2008 i'd likea 309gti beam for the extra track. would i have any clearance problems if t is mildlylowered? also expect id need the driveshaft, arms etc from the 309 to make up the fronttrack? are there any cons togo with the pros? Sandy 191 Posted April 22, 2008 Personally, I think the extra stability at the back the 309GTi creates (and the understeer that results), spoils the balance.
taylorspug 7 Posted April 23, 2008 You will have a few clearance problems with the plastic arch trims on the back, but nothing serious. However its important you have both rear bumpstops in place if you are running 50 profile tyres, otherwise there is a good chance the wheel will catch the front edge of the arch on the quarter panel. I had this issue and tbh even the std bumpstops werent good enough, so fitted uprated ones. You will need the arms for the front, although you may not need the shafts, it seems to vary from car to car, some had a shaft pop out, others are running the 205 items with no problems. Would also tend to agree with Sandy about the balance. Mine will wander wide slightly unless you back the car into a corner and steer it on the throttle, and thats with increased negative camber on the front and zero rear toe in. Sandy 191 Posted April 23, 2008 Slightly, but kind of defeats the point of fitting it perhaps?
