question 1: three plugs at the back of the lump, brown, green and blue. whats what?

question 2: map sensor pipe, off the ecu? where does it go?

question 3: on the back of the engine but on top, there is a rubber pipe, (that connects to the silver boost pipe from the turbo) and it has some form of relay in it to where a plug goes? what is this? what does it do?

any help would be most grateful and im sure ill add more questions

Thanks

Mike

1. on the thermostat housing? water temp sender for dash/ecu and err something else.

2. to one of the nipples on the throttle body

3. the boost control solenoid. should be three pipes on it. one to the intake piping, one to the boost piping and one to the waste gate actuator

which nipple, as i dont think i have any pipes left, one of them is doing my swirl pot, shouldnt it?

and i dont think i have 3 pipes, bollocks lol

o and if i buy an a/f gauge, does it have to be wideband because its turbo?

i think you need to take some pictures, post em up and we'll be in a better position to help.

edit:

depends what you want it for. wideband has much more resolution, so is far more useful, a narrow band guage is just there to look pretty :)

right, well i want to measure my a/f so i dont run it too lean...

i thought the plug was somewhere else for the water temp but it must be one of those at the back of the engine, either green, blue, or brown..... its usually blue on pug but, wonders never cease..

brown would be for the fan in the original installation, Bitron sensor for A/C controlled cooling fans, green would be ECU, blue for the dash.

if you're using an mbc you can ditch the boost solonoid yes. you might need to keep it plugged in to prevent the ecu registering a fault tho.

blue for the ecu if it follows 205 colours

ok lets lowering the interlect here for me for one sec

if i buy a mechanical boost controller, i can ditch the boost solenoid

i can then wind the boost up to nearly 1 bar and that will improve bhp? what bhp am i looking at ish?

Blue goes to your dials. One pins stop light others temp gauge. I think 1st pins temp gauge. just swap em around till they work? Green tells the Ecu what temp the engines at? must be important.

Brown is to Bitron sensor works with aircon and fan or something, Haynes literature baffles me.

Not sure about these mechanic boost controllers.

1bar should see you past 160bhp surley?

all being well 1 bar should see you well over 200bhp ;) as to whether everything else is up to it is another matter, I'll leave answering that to the Turbo boys.

1 bar with the standard ecu will see you hitting nothing but the boost cut.
