ifcho 0 Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) Do you know what car do these calipers come from? I'm pretty sure they are 266mm setup, but don't know which car they are from and which pads should I buy. Federal Mogul, list these two types of pads: pre 97 - http://www.elcome.co.uk/fmecat/fsp/CarSpecs.asp?pn=FCP1133 after 97 - http://www.elcome.co.uk/fmecat/fsp/CarSpecs.asp?pn=FCP1112 I have the first one in hand and I know they don't fit these calipers...but I'm not sure the second type would fit as well... any ideas? GTI6BOY 29 Posted April 21, 2008 look like 6 brakes to me?
welshpug 1,657 Posted April 21, 2008 do you know the piston size? its usually cast into the top side of the caliper, cant quite see it in your picture, but they don't look like 306 or 405 266mm calipers, and the 206 266mm calipers I used to have didn't have such large cooling fins. ifcho 0 Posted April 21, 2008 The piston size is 54 Here is a full size pic: http://gallery.ifcho.net/photos/205%20gti/...es/STA50884.JPG
welshpug 1,657 Posted April 21, 2008 hmm, Lucas with 54mm pots, GTi6 are 57mm IIRC.
ifcho 0 Posted April 22, 2008 I guess they are some partner/berlingo van type calipers...I'll go to a local shop where I have a friend, hoping to let me test some different types of pads till I find the correct ones. Another thing that concerns me now is the large cooling fins. Hope they fit 15" Speedlines...
Baz 421 Posted April 22, 2008 They do look like S16 calipers, without the lumpy bit...
GTI6BOY 29 Posted April 23, 2008 306 hdi have slightly smaller pistons
RossD 44 Posted April 23, 2008 I fitted these calipers to my 306 TD once and they fitted under the 14" harrier alloys fine, so should be fine under 15" alloys I would have thought. The ones I fitted came from a Berlingo van and indeed had 54mm pistons.
ifcho 0 Posted April 23, 2008 (edited) Well I found the right pads...I went to a friend that sells auto parts and we found the one that match my calipers. These are the ones: http://www.elcome.co.uk/fmecat/fsp/CarSpecs.asp?pn=FCP1112 I must say, the pads look much better than the mi16/s16 266mm calipers I have seen, which have incredibly small pads -95.00 x 43.50 x 18.00 mm compared to these - 130mmx44mmx18.00mm If somebody is interested, here is a list of the cars that have these pads.
