Rose Jointed Gear Linkages

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have just bought some Grp A rose jointed gear levers, and some bronze lever bushes all to be mated to a short shift pivot..

Can any one give any reports on this setup. Also how long it should take to fit…?

Thanks

Rob

Works well :(

Time wise depends how long it takes you to swap the ball heads on the box to threaded studs to bolt the RJ's on to, unless you mean the clip stlye ends not Rose joint, but then I guess you mean the later from the title.

No I mean the real Rose Jointed ones :(

Purchased from AB Motorsport for £97 + £20 for bronze levers + Delivery, so hopefully are the best money can buy!!

BE3 box = Pain as you need to convert the selector coming out of the box with a stud, The BE1 box you can take these out and make them look neat, the BE3 ones needs welding in really. The rest is easy if fiddly so a good few hours there

Hopefully they are PFTE ones which are the best, the cheaper ones need greasing up every now and again

The Bronze bushes are a good upgraded but not really any better than std, Sounds like a sales pitch I know but mine will have a similar idea but with less movent and you won;t have to worry about doing the bolt up to tight.

I have rose jointed gear links and a be3 box. I decided not to mess about with the selector, so i bought 1 of the clip on type for that and used rose jointed for the rest of the setup.

I do them with rose joints and M6 shoulder bolts. I remove the balls from the levers then tack in the shoulder bolt from the back with a TIG welder. The shoulder bolt takes a 4mm allen key, but the tack makes assembly easier. The shoulder bolt has a ground 6mm diameter which matches the rose joint perfectly.
