Found A Rusty Hole!

Recommended Posts

mogsman

Hi all, Ive stripped out the rear seats so I can use the car like a small van. What I found is a rust patch under the rear seat next to a painted rubber patch. After a prod and a poke I made a hole. Any ideas what the rubber patch is for?

Is it on the drivers side?

Lift it up and you'll find the fuel pump underneath.

Its in the dip where the rear seat covers. Theres two of them, look like big flat blobs of rubber sealant. I don't want to remove it as I'm not sure yet. The one in question is right next to the bracket that the passenger side base locates on.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like a job for the summer when I won't need the car for a while.
