Rally Slag 0 Posted April 19, 2008 Have done a search on this but cant find much info on it, found a couple of pics of the inside of the car but not from underneath. Does anybody have some proper pictures of the rear suspension set up with turreted rears and info on whats involved and how to get rid of using the torsion bars completly without the trailing arms coming out of the cross tube, cheers guys

Spiky 37 Posted May 3, 2008 this is something i would like on the rear can i ask though, would it do away with the torision bars and use a coilover shock on the rear?
Sandy 191 Posted May 3, 2008 For the competition cars the torsion bars have to be retained for sprint rules (Mod Prod), but don't have to do anything. For road cars Colin prefers to keep the torsion bars active, so if the damper mounting on the arm did fail (never happened to his yet, even rallying), there would be some tension still in the suspension. Rippthrough 98 Posted May 4, 2008 It's nice to keep two springs anyway as it reduces the amplitude at resonance compared to a single, stronger spring, you can get away with slight softer damping and gain a little grip.
