Paint Again But Underneath

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Theres been alot posted about paint recently but I'm still unsure as to whats best. <_<

This Topic shows my progress so far.

Ive bought my paint from FROST so far Ive got :~

~metal ready

~por-15 rust preventative paint

~seam sealer

~self etching primer

~ ????????

The question is will this be the right way to apply it, or do I put the seam-sealer on earlier for example, which I was going to apply everywhere like the original stuff was.

All the paint will be brushes on not sprayed.

Also Ive got the self etching primer as I wont the underneath painted white but what do I use thats hard wearing and resistant to road salt and stone chips ( Will hammerite smooth do B) ) will it be OK on seam-sealer.

thanks

dave

just do like youve already said but etch all the baremetal and i would prime the seams 1st before you brush your seam sealer on,as for the underneath itll have to be stone chip as you can it in white anyway, you can get a sray on seam sealer and stone chip something like whats on the pug now and when it drys its like hard rubber its like whats on the sills on modern cars now, its aplpied with its own gun as you can set it to have diffrent thicknesses ,but to do underneath itl probly take a lot of cartridges but itl be better than nomal stone chip
