309 Gti Misfire

Recommended Posts

As above, seems like its holding back, id say probably electrical. Trouble is owning a french and italian (fiat coupe 20vt LE) car is a drain on the wallet so i'd rather not buy HT leads, dizzy cap/arm etc if I can get away with it without definately diagnosing them first. Dont suppose theres any 205/309 gti owners near leicester that wants to swap some parts?!!

On idle its ok, when in neutral, on a standstill I can hear a slight misfire when revving, its mainly noticeable when under load and booting it, it feels like its holding back.

Ive only just bought the car as a project and it had been standing for a while.

Coil or the ignition amp. problem maybe <_< as you said it's best to find some known good spare ones and swap them over for the test B)

But id check the usual ignition bits first – plugs , leads , dizzy cap , rotor arm , ignition connectors and wiring .

Rgs ! B)
