djinuk 2 Posted April 17, 2008 Ok, just a few questions as i am going to refurbish all my trim and bumpers. My bumpers, (the actual black part which the red strip sits in) is cracked, Are they any diffrent to the ones on the base models?, as if not im going to get two from the scrapyard at the weekend. Next questions is what are all the part numbers for all of the red trim on the 205 gti's. ? Another question is does anybody have the part number for the clips that hold on the red trim to the 205 gti's? Are these all worth replacing. Now more of a general question, how do i go about removing the 205 bumpers?, whats the best method of attack? My plan is to get all the trim, and spray it in plastic primer, then i am going to high build it , and then flat it down to give super smooth bumpers, then i am either going to spray them gloss black or, dark metalic gunmetal grey , and Laquer them so they are nice and shiny. But as they are fibre glass they are easy to trim to fit. it looks like pug do it at the factory, so no worries there. Dont know the part numbers but auto five sell the red strips. To remove the bumper take the head light out undo 2 13mm nuts at the front and 1 at each side behind the wing. Rears: disconnect No plate lights, fog and reverse. open the tailgate remove 2 more 13mm nuts, then remove 2 13s either side of the rear arches. ensure you soak every nut in wd40 first. good luck. djinuk 2 Posted April 22, 2008 Are the clips that hold the strips on worth replacing at all ?
Hardgraf 0 Posted May 29, 2008 I found that replacing the strips is a bit of a pain, you pop one end on & the other pops off etc. But you'll get there in the end
