Foltan 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Having spent a bit more time fiddling with the gearbox that i mentioned in a post below i've now decided that the housing of my replacement gearbox is definitely different. It doesn't go far enough towards the engine so the driveshaft doesn't seal. it isn't close enough for the flywheel cover to go on and one of the mounts to the engine doesn't meet up. Anyone else have this experience? And know a good place to get another gearbox?! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Foltan 0 Posted April 16, 2008 i'm not sure :S i got it a long time ago and am trying to get hold of the chap to ask him. It wasn't from a GTX like mine, not sure if it was an XS either, but it had things like a sunroof so not sure if it was a super-base-rubbish model. I'm tying to find out, but i'm wondering whether, because my engine is fairly uncommon and new in terms of 205's, the gearbox might be a slightly different shape!
