Be1 Gears In A Be3 Box?

Recommended Posts

Pug_Power_Dave

Been thinking about building a hybrid box,

I want it basically to be a be3 casing with reverse under 5th, Is it possible to use be1 gears in these either from a 1.6 or 1.9? As i think you could get some good ratio's using these then a 1.9 / diesel final drive or somthing for the motorway miles!

Cheers

Dave

I have found that alot of the gears etc are interchangeable and I would have thought that you could just take all of it out of one casing and simply place into another providing you keep the selectors as these are different between Be1 and Be 3,I have found however that the cut of the teeth on the reverse gear / 1st motion shaft are different from early to late and they change again on the Be4's
