Tom Fenton 1,542 Posted April 9, 2008 Just to add to the above, depends how many miles it has done in my experience. I run 15/40 in my 136k mile 1.6 as this allows it to maintain good hot oil pressure where the 10/40 would not.
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted April 9, 2008 Personally I have always found that 205's like Millers XS-s 10/40W Semi synthetic. Always use a Peugeot oil filter on them though as they have a return valve in them which keeps the pressure better
base-1 17 Posted April 9, 2008 Another vote for Millers being the shizzle Champion filters also have the valve, think Frams do aswell but I forget. Either way should be cheaper than Peugeot!

Unless I'm misreading Oilmans posts and so forth the 15 in "15w40" relates to its viscosity when cold and the 40 relates to the viscosity when its hot. So a 10w40 and a 15w40 should both have the same viscosity when at the same "hot" temperature. I use a 5w40 oil myself as I need the cold start protection as I do a lot of short distance driving.
