can you change the piston seal with out bleeding them after?is there any special way of fitting them?

i am putting on braided hose and want to renew the seals

It's best to remove the piston fully - that way you can clean it up of all the gunk you'll find prior to fitting the seal. The seal is easy to fit, just be careful not to tear it.

Yes you'll need to bleed the brakes as you're removing the piston and also you'll be replacing the hose.

sorry i mis typed, i have put braided hoses on a while back,

 

and now i want to put a new seal on one caliper.

You can change the seal with the piston in place. You will though need to wind it out almost fully so be prepared to have to bleed.

It's not a bad idea to clean up the piston anyway as it will be pretty dirty, especially if you're having to replace the seal.

i got another seal from my old calipers i removed the pads and just pushed on sorted thanks :P

i was worried that i might have more to do you know what these cars can be like.
