screwloose 6 Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) A couple of years back i was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of driving through the Alps down to Monaco to meet my parents. Exiting a small village deep in the Alps i found myself being followed by a Renault 5 turbo which ripped past me with relative ease (I was in a Civic Type R). It sounded amazing! It sounded like an old Grp B rally car. Closely following it with my windows down it was popping and banging on lift off or overun (whichever it is). How do I get my car to sound like that? At the moment my car is just bloody loud and not the nice loud as was with the Renault 5. Its an MI with twin webbers and a Grp N Exhaust. Any help would be much appreciated. Jonny. Baz 421 Posted April 9, 2008 You'll have trouble considering GTT's are turbocharged into a carburettor! But most 205's pop and bang on overrun, particulalry if a little rich, what exhaust etc is on yours?

I think it may be a s*ite OMP GRP N
Coonper 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I hate to admit this but i'm not sure was on it when I bought it.I think it may be a s*ite OMP GRP N I wouldnt say OMP are s*it mate. I expect yours sounds quite raspy with that exhaust, but then the pounding of the carbs will be very deep. I'd have thought it would sound quite nice... welshpug 1,661 Posted April 9, 2008 have a read of this thread, http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...p;hl=how++sound a few ideas on what the different systems out there for a 205 effect the sound. don't forget that the engine and induction system have a big part in creating the sound, though I think you'll struggle to reproduce the sound of a 1400 pushrod carb+turbo'd engine in a pug (with a pug engine)
wardy18 33 1 Cars Posted April 9, 2008 i had to fit an extra silencer to mine at the last hillclimb, with 45 webers it sounds so so sweet with a 2 1/4 stainless system and a magnex 4:1 mani, when its hot after a warm up or a run and i shut her down i get a sonic boom out the exhaust hehe toasted marshmallows anyone!! how do you turn the fueling down on the webers, is it purely the Idle Mixture Screw and maybe the pressure from the regulator coming from the facet pump?! mine is way too rich
