d-9 0 Posted April 8, 2008 Is it me, or is the GTI6 oil temp sensor calibrated differently to the 205 one? My oil temp gauge now only moves off the bottom after a very heavy track sesh or 90 on the motorway for half an hour! anyone know how to sort it?
Bakes100 20 1 Cars Posted April 8, 2008 Yea it reads wrong, you need the temp sensor off a newer 205 xu engine , i think the diameter is 14 on servicebox , its about 16 quid
VisaGTi16v 1 Posted April 8, 2008 Is it a different size to a standard 205 or mi19 one?
Super Josh 4 Posted April 9, 2008 Is it a different size to a standard 205 or mi19 one? Yeah the standard Mi and 8V one is M16, the later 8V sumps had an M14 thread. See my post here but everyone shot me down in flames and said that their temp gauges read fine with the standard '6 sender. I've also listed the part number for the 8V M14 sender and copper washer in that thread. Josh

Super Josh 4 Posted April 9, 2008 Best get to the dealers quick. With everyone buying one they'll be one back order before you know it Josh
welshpug 1,657 Posted April 9, 2008 do you know if its a Bosch or Jaeger sender? if it's a Bosch sender you can get them from Lucas/Bosch dealers, you could even cross reference it in the Bosch catalogue to see if any other manufacturers use a similar sender! Bakes100 20 1 Cars Posted April 9, 2008 I think you will find its a Jaeger item
Super Josh 4 Posted April 9, 2008 I think you will find its a Jaeger item I'll have a look at mine this evening to confirm. Josh
Super Josh 4 Posted April 16, 2008 I think you will find its a Jaeger item As suspected, it's a Jaeger item. Which is why it works with Jaeger clocks. Does the GTi6 have a different make of clocks then? Josh
VisaGTi16v 1 Posted April 16, 2008 Dont know but the Visa has Jaeger clocks. Anyway, the sensor was £16 or something from Peugeot main dealer
