As it happened i was asking in the Pug dealer the other day about a new clutch cable, he looked on his computer and told me they CANT get them anymore :S for cars before or after 1990 :s think i should go to another pug garage where they are a bit more helpful? lol
pee vee 1 Posted April 8, 2008 the one i have here Looks like this with the Metal end on it where it attaches to the pedal.. several sites are saying this is the one for BE3 83-91 :S but the one that was on there was different to that, reckon it will fit anyway? surely there will have to be a bolt or something to put thru the hole in the cable end to hold it to the pedal? skinner2k3 3 Posted April 8, 2008 I couldnt get that one to fit mine (BE3 non lift). Had exactly the same problem, the first one I bought had the metal bit. I didnt realise until I had fitted it and tried to connect it. Do you want me to try Part-Co for you? I work round the corner from them.
pee vee 1 Posted April 8, 2008 Hi mate, yeah if you could that would be handy!! thanks for the info, i know the one ive got definitely aint gonna fit now, so wont even try
skinner2k3 3 Posted April 8, 2008 Hi, no problem. I can wander round at lunch tomorrow and check which if any they have in stock. I know what it needs to look like. I seem to remeber the metal ended version being a slightly different length too (may have dreamt that though!)
pee vee 1 Posted April 8, 2008 (edited) thanks for that mate. i think the RAC mans temporary fix will be ok for now. but need to get a proper cable for combe on 19th! lol Edited April 8, 2008 by pee vee
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted April 8, 2008 That is a rare cable which I;ve only seen 1 car with it fitted as the clutch pedal end is really a BE1, So best off saying for a 1993 205 Gti, That cable has a different fitting of a pin much like the brake servo, the later one's just clip over without anything else
pee vee 1 Posted April 8, 2008 Ah ha! just the answer i was looking for, so basically if i order the very late one, it will have the plastic H piece i need to go over the pedal? thanks again.

I just got one for a Be1 box and it is exactly the same as that one, the clutch pedal end is wrong for my car as it is an 'H' reg car and should have a Be3 box ( I think ) with a different clutch end. So I decided to swap it for a cable with an end to fit my pedal ('H' reg car ) and modify the clutch end
skinner2k3 3 Posted April 9, 2008 Just called part co and they are going to get all three in by the end of the day so I can pick the one you need. If you still need it? Just to confirm, you need the one with the white plastis end which hooks up and over the end of the pedal, correct?
