Do I Need To Swap My Clocks?

Recommended Posts

Rupes

I'm changing my TU engine to a 1.9 GTI, can I plug in the new engine loom and expect the original clocks to work, or do I need to buy GTI clocks? I wanted the car to remain looking original as far as possible, so I don't want to change them if I can help it.

Whilst I've never done it, I don't think that you'll need to change the clocks - the senders work the same way, and the rev counter (if you've got one) feed should be the same. Obviously with base model clocks you'll have no oil pressure or oil temp gauges though...

Thanks Anthony that's a relief. I've got 1.4 Rallye clocks, so most of that stuff is there.

But the rallye clocks are rubbish and its rev counter tells lies.
