dean 0 Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) need some help i have on my car skip brown phase 1 and phase 2 suspenion set up but one of the front shocks has gone and it needs a new insert which is £100 but if you do one side you ment to do the other so it going to be more like 250 with p&p is this suspension set up worth keeping or would it be better to go to coilovers Edited April 2, 2008 by dean
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted April 2, 2008 Keep the SBC stuff imo rather than guessing at springs etc to use on coilovers. SBC know their stuff with regards to the 205 GTi suspension. (well, 205 GTi's full stop really) Graham.
welshpug 1,657 Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) From my brief encounter with an SBC suspended 205 I'd agree very much with Graham, it felt very very good, keep Adjustable stuff for racing. you can get them rebuilt by Bilstein to SBC's spec, you'd have to go through SBC for this, you can get them sent very cheaply if you use www.interparcel.com. dean 0 Posted April 2, 2008 the only problem with having them sent of to be rebuilt is i wont have anyother suspension on my car while its being done i think i might just order the new inserts as they said there not hard to fit at all. befor the shock went it was a real nice ride and the handling was really good as well as its got there thicker arbs and also negitive camber on the rear
