Got New Wing Indicator In Different Location?

Recommended Posts

smokey

Hiya guys

I got a new wing from someone on Ebay breaking 205's and when i compared it to the wing on my car the indicator is in a different location.

Is this due to my car being phase 1 and the wing being phase 2?

I'm getting another wing for the passenger side so hopefully that will match the new on i've already got.

i looked into buying a new wing for my friends 205 a year or 2 back, and the motor factor guy said 'gti, non-gti, or gti without a side repeater hole?'

it is possible to buy a pattern wing without a repeater hole, so could it be that someone has got one of those and drilled a hole at home?

I dont think so, the hole for the indicator is a proper cut one with gaps at the sides, which would be for the taps for the indicator housing to go through.

I fitted 2 new wings from the dealer on my 89 phase 1.5. the indicators are in the same place as your new wing. according to the label they were made in 2005. So your more than likley right. Early 205s had no repeaters if i remember. Im sure my mates d reg xs are further back but that maybe because the gti arch trim makes the repeater look closer. the problem is that who ever you buy the wing from the holes likley to be futher forward.

There was 2 different places for the holes, dont know the dates , But must be early and later models.

Aparently peugeot dealer only has one type in stock, i had one last moth, luckely the hole was in in the same place as old wing. (also 89)

im sure all UK cars had repeaters there tho

Ah cool thanks for clearing that up guys.

No biggy, the other wing will be a later phase one too, so both sides will match again.

Thanks

IIRC, you'll need to extend the wiring, too (I know you do when fitting PH1 wings to later cars, luckily I took them off again, so I think I'll be holding on to my Ph1 wings  )
