Bakes100 20 1 Cars Posted March 31, 2008 Hi After doing some searching I couldnt really find a difinitive answer for this.... Does the gti6 engine really need the water cooler system by the oil filter if its just used for fast road use?? Also if it does require it , does anyone have a part number from peugeot for the bottom hose that will connect the hose to the exchanger? (i have read it is either the 405 TD one or a BX one?) Any helps appreciated Thanks
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted March 31, 2008 The Heat Exchanger gets the oil hotter than anything else so the engine temp's get to the right spec when driving in most condition's, Drive them hard and it goes to pot and thats where the air cooled cooler's come into there own. There's loads of ways of connecting it thou, Some Rad's have the take off for it, But the most common is the BX pipe

craig f90 0 Posted March 31, 2008 cheers miles , you wouldnt know the part number for the bx one would you??? I used a SFS t peice. with no leaks. Sonosam had an outlet brazed on from the metal pipe that bolts to the inner wing and joined it that way.
