welshpug 1,657 Posted March 30, 2008 err, has that puller through? not seen that myself but I've heard of them bending and breaking.
Jrod 7 Posted March 30, 2008 (edited) Yep, the end had pulled off! Heard of them bending and snapping but never the ends falling off. Edited March 30, 2008 by Jrod
marc t 0 Posted March 30, 2008 When I converted a beam a few years ago I thought I hadn't pulled it though enough so put a bit of extra pressure on it and it came straight through.
205turbo 32 2 Cars Posted March 30, 2008 we had a 306 in onces and it was driving round with it broken pin for ages before he noticed.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted March 30, 2008 Its never happened to me but I've seen it on a beam I stripped for spares before where the head had sheared off leaving it just like that. Threw it straight in the bin & fitted another obviously. Graham.
Jrod 7 Posted March 30, 2008 (edited) we had a 306 in onces and it was driving round with it broken pin for ages before he noticed. That was like that for about 9 months.... passed an mot aswell! He replaced the rear wheel bearing once and it still had play so returned the bearing for another which still had play in it. M@tt 77 Posted March 30, 2008 is the end the big bit wth what looks like a large allen key hole in it? i take it they are usually pressed out from the threaded end when removed? although i've done lots of beams not done much with these stub axels (once i tried unscrewing it with an allen key )
Jrod 7 Posted March 30, 2008 They should have a big end bit on so they only come out from behind.
