M_R_205 5 1 Cars Posted March 30, 2008 Just a couple of quickies, how are the windows held onto the winderer mechanism, and is it easy to change them over? I tryed a search and dint get much Paul
GLPoomobile 958 Posted March 30, 2008 At the base of the window it has two metal supports which are bonded in place. These slid inside guides connected to the mechanism. IIRC, removal involves undoing various boths that hold the mechanism in place so that you can manipulate it to get the guides away from the support brackets. Once they are free you can lift the gass out of the door (need to unclip the weather strips first though). Not a complicated job per se, but can be quite fiddly and a pain. Use some strong gaffer tape to hold the glass in the fully up position while you are working on the mechanism.

AdamP 0 Posted April 13, 2008 Phil, how are yours held in place and do they make a good seal at the bottom with the original seals?
SIDCPHIL 0 Posted April 13, 2008 I have used the original winding mechanism to start with. I may change that by a permanent fixing The seals seem fine although we shall see once on track
