(brakeparts is out of stock) 4: Will you give me £1000 for a full set of Hi-Spec brakes so I can do away with all the above? 1: No, rear hubnut on all 205's is usually 32mm. 2: Yes. Well, should be 180 x 40mm. 3: Any decent motor factors shuld be able to get them, even Helfrauds. 4: Not likely. How will they remove the need for the above? Aren't they just front brakes by Hispec? Graham.
craig f90 0 Posted March 30, 2008 1. 32mm. 2. As graham says. 3. Any decent motor factors will have them in stores, if not they will usually get them the next day for you. 4. Nope. unless you want swap my £1000 for your gti? (but i can guess what your answer will be ) Get a 1.9 beam with discs and calipers.

welshpug 1,657 Posted March 31, 2008 if you want a decent handbrake stick to drums, ever so effective or go the whole hog with a hydraulic handbrake...
MerlinGTI 3 Posted March 31, 2008 Im sticking to drums (short term anyway) in truth because im poor due to replacing so many busted parts! but if anyone asks I'll make out its because of the better handbrake Incidently my handbrake is about as much use as wedging a moldy carrot under the back wheel when parked at the moment, hopefully a spruce up and some new bits will rectify the situation. My baby seems to behave for a couple of days when I buy it new bits
VisaGTi16v 1 Posted April 1, 2008 The handbrake on my old 1.6 205 with drums was flipping mental! Its not so great on the Visa but thats not a big deal. If I could get the self adjusters to work reliably I would stick to drums but I am bored of my pedal being on the floor at the end of a track session so am probably swapping to rear discs
