applemobile 0 Posted March 29, 2008 i was looking at my car the other day, and i think it really needs some tlc in the paint department. and after getting locked out, i managed to scratch more paint getting back in. i cant merrit the money to spend getting a re-spray in sorrento green, but i know it i get all the places touched up it wont quite look right. the paint will never match. I have been offered a full respray in a totally different colour (some kind of blue) for very cheep. is it really sacralidge to spray a sorrento green car a different colour, i just feel i would be hung drawn and quartered ir anyone found out! what are your views? TurboSam 5 Posted March 29, 2008 I have been offered a full respray in a totally different colour (some kind of blue) for very cheep. does the very cheap respray include all the door shuts and other bits? either way I'd keep it sorrento..
Paintguy 0 Posted March 29, 2008 I just feel I would be hung drawn and quartered if anyone found out! what are your views? We wouldn't be that harsh on you mate. Maybe a ban for life and a visit from 'the boys' though No, the choice is yours at the end of the day, but I think sorrento is one of the best colours on a 205, so I'd urge you to keep it standard. Surely for the price of full respray you could have the damaged areas repaired?
Peetypug 5 Posted March 29, 2008 how about stripping it yourself? surely that will bring the price down a bit
applemobile 0 Posted March 29, 2008 its 1990 on a g plate. so there aint to many of them around i believe. i might just touch it up my self, as a proffesional wont get it perfect, so my terriable job wont be so bad
applemobile 0 Posted March 29, 2008 does anyone know where i can get hold of a small amount of paint? or maybe in some rattle cans? who sells sorrento green, cant find it in my local auto stylee shope?
Paintguy 0 Posted March 29, 2008 Try looking for something more like a paint or bodyshop supplier. Most will be able to mix you some of the correct colour and put it in a rattle can for you. If you can take a (painted) part from your car with you, they should be able to get a very close match

darojac 0 Posted March 30, 2008 Go to www.paints4u.com - they're in Sc*nthorpe but do mail order. Your car will have a paint code of either MORM or ERM, but their ordering system only recognises ERM. You'll need lacquer as well
